Chris Vigars

Chris has a degree in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford and joined the patent profession in 1993 following graduation. He qualified as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney in 1997. Chris advises in a wide range of technology areas, and has particular interest and experience in semiconductors and silicon design, fixed and wireless telecommunications, computer software, seismic surveying and nuclear magnetic resonance techniques, automotive technologies, and renewable energy technologies.
In addition Chris advises on all aspects of IP law and practice and, in particular, on IP strategy to make best use of a company's IP assets. He takes a commercial and practical approach to IP, and believes that any IP decisions need to be focussed on the commercial goals of an organisation. Chris has given many presentations and training sessions throughout his career, and most recently has presented a module on IP for the University of Bath MBA Course.
